Why I Use The King James Bible

One of the questions I've been asked, “What Bible do you use?” I answer unapologetically, "The King James Bible."

But, why do I use the King James Bible? Because the KJB is the most accurate translation in English. It is from the preserved Hebrew and Greek texts.

The Bible is comprised of sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments and was given by inspiration of God. Therefore, it is inerrant and infallible. I believe in both the verbal and plenary inspiration. In addition, God has preserved His word as He promised, and that He has preserved it in the traditional texts or in the set of manuscripts known as the Textus Receptus.

The King James Bible is an accurate, faithful, and reliable translation of these manuscripts and that the English reader, therefore, can study it with utmost confidence and rely upon it.

The King James Bible is the inspired Word of God, not because God “breathed” again in 1611, but because the King James Bible was translated from the preserved texts.

I use the King James Bible by conviction. I cannot see any reason to use another translation in worship or personal study.

What is meant by...
Verbal Inspiration - That process by which “God breathed” or wrote the books of the Bible by holy men of God, as they were moved by the Holy Spirit, in such a definite way that their writings were supernaturally and verbally inspired and free from error, as no other writings have ever been or ever will be inspired. (2 Timothy 3:16, II Peter1:19-21)

Plenary Inspiration - The entire Bible is inspired.

Preservation - God will, and has, preserved His Word in pure form, including the most minute details (the jots and titles, the words), and that this would include the whole Scriptures, Old and New Testaments. The biblical doctrine of preservation is verbal, plenary preservation, which is the only reasonable view in light of the Biblical doctrine of the verbal, plenary, inspiration of the Writings.

Inerrancy - The Bible is without error, that the Bible is correct in every statement it makes. The Bible reports and identifies errors accurately, of course, but it does not perpetrate them.

Infallibility - The Bible is effective in everything it does. When the Bible is used, it always works. It never fails us. The Bible is incapable of error.

God's Been Good

(Written by Tim Parton)

Lately I've been looking back, along this winding road
To the old familiar markers of the mercies I have known
I know it may sound simple but it's more than a cliche
There's no better way to tell you, than to say,
God's been good

Times replay and I can see that I've cried some bitter tears
But I felt His arms around me, as I faced my greatest fears
You see I've had more gains than losses and I've known more joy than hurt
As His grace rolled down upon me undeserved,
God's been good

For God has been my Father, my Savior and my Friend
His love was my beginning, and His love will be my end
I could spend forever trying to tell you everything He is
But the best that I can say it is this,
God's been good

God's been good in my life
I feel blessed beyond my wildest dreams when I go to sleep each night
And though I've had my share of hard times, I wouldn't change them if I could
'Cause through it all, God's been good

I Believe

I believe in one God.
I believe in Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world.
I believe in His blood atonement and bodily resurrection.
I believe the Holy Bible IS the Word of God, complete and inerrant.
I believe in a literal heaven and a literal hell.
I believe in marriage, between 1 man and 1 woman.
I believe that homosexuality is a heinous sin and a scourge on the nation.
I believe abortion is murder.
I believe this nation will be judged because of its acceptance of abortion and tolerance of homosexuality.

I believe America is the greatest nation on earth.
I believe the U.S. Constitution is one of the greatest documents ever written.
I believe the Constitution should be interpreted exactly as founding fathers intended. It is not a living, breathing document to be changed at the whims of activist judges.
I believe this country was founded as a Christian nation.
I believe liberalism is a blight and a cancer that will destroy this nation.

This is what I believe.

Music

Music is neat.
I like it.
I have records.
They go round and round.
I have tapes.
Many squeak.
I have CD's.
I hear they go 'round too,
but I have no proof
to back up this hearsay
Downloaded music has no soul.

All the King's Horses

By Bob Hartman

(Based on Revelation 19:11-21)

It's an age-old score that's got to be settled
It's an age-old debt that's got to be paid
When the King breaks through in all of His glory
To claim His throne and the world that He made

The nations wait with their armies gathered
With Jerusalem firmly under their thumbs
There will be no peace in Armageddon valley
Till the trumpet sounds and the cavalry comes
When He arrives He will conquer them all
Take back the ground given after the fall

On a great white horse the King will come riding
He's the One they call Faithful and True
With His eyes of fire and blood dipped clothing
He had a name nobody else knew

And by His side ride the armies of heaven
Dressed in linen clean and white as the snow
Riding down to earth with a vengeance so holy
For a one-day battle that will trample their foe
And when the dust and the smoke disappears
The King will reign for a thousand years!
